Which math courses do you teach?
Support includes algebra, functions, trigonometry, Foundations and Pre-calculus 10, Pre-calculus 11 and Pre-calculus 12, AP Calculus and university Calculus I–III. Lessons can address gaps in earlier learning, current coursework, test preparation or deeper mathematical understanding. What happens in the first lesson?
We begin with your course, learning goals and a few current questions. Rachel looks at your reasoning to identify where understanding breaks down, explains the missing steps and guides you through practice. This helps establish useful priorities for future lessons. Bring recent work, teacher feedback or an upcoming test outline if available.
Can I take online lessons from West Vancouver?
Yes. Students can learn from home without travelling across the Lower Mainland. Online instruction focuses on understanding why a method works, choosing an approach and explaining the steps independently. Ask about the lesson format and what to prepare when you inquire.
Do you support ADHD, autism, IEPs and homeschooling?
Yes. Rachel supports students with ADHD, autism, mental health barriers and any IEP designation, and holds a Mental Health First Aid certificate. We discuss each learner’s strengths and useful supports, which may include smaller tasks, visual explanations, flexible pacing and breaks. Homeschooling math teaching can include instruction, lesson planning and assessment support.
How much do lessons cost?
Rachel’s tutoring rate is $90 - $120 per hour. Discuss your course, preferred format and any in-person arrangements before confirming lessons.
How do I arrange lessons?
